FLU SEASON IS APPROACHING... WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME
It is difficult determining whether that sniffle warrants a day at home or if it’s just cold weather affecting the sinuses. And we’re all too familiar with that dreaded call to the boss to let them know you can’t come in today because of your sick kiddo, especially in this post-COVID world. Thankfully employers are more empathetic to preventing disease than ever before. Staying home when sick is the most important way to help prevent the spread of germs!

Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of these symptoms:
Fever – 100 degree or higher. Child should be fever-free without medications before returning to school
Flu Symptoms – Cough, sore throat, fatigue, body aches, vomiting, diarrhea
Diarrhea – loose, watery stools in the last 24 hours
Vomiting – within the last 24 hours
Rash – undiagnosed rash, quickly spreading with fever or itching
Eye Discharge – white or yellow drainage from eye, or eye is pink/red
Mouth Sores – until examined by a health care provider
Oozing Sores – unless properly covered with a bandage
STUDENTS RECEIVING ANTIBIOTICS MUST BE ON MEDICATION FOR A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS BEFORE RETURNING TO SCHOOL.

Please call the school if you are unsure about whether your child is well to return. The school nurse or health assistant can assist you in determining if your child should come to school or stay home.
